Motorola Milestone: BOOTLOADER EPIC FAIL
Dear Motorola Management,
I am pretty sure you have heard about a internet and PR-phenomenon called "Streisand effect".
You are experiencing this effect right here and right now.
You are getting the worst PR ever because of the decision to keep the Milestone Bootloader locked and signed.
Your product is getting very bad ratings on Amazon, your policy is discussed in so many internet forums, webpages, irc-channels, here at facebook...Can't you see that this road leads to nowhere?
We, YOUR customers do not want to violate copyrights when we ask for an open bootloader, we ask for it because we are the OWNERS and we want TOTAL OWNERSHIP of our phones.
Why do you think we have bought and Android phone with an Linux-based OS and not an crappy DRM-iPhone?
BECAUSE WE WANT TO BE ROOT, WE WANT TO OWN OUR HARD- AND SOFTWARE!
So think about it. Rethink. And then correct the status-quo and give us what we want, this is the only choice you have to save the situation.
If not it will get worse and worse and your reputation will suffer. Search the blogs, search Facebook, Twitter, national and international forums: Your reputation is SUFFERING right now. So do something before it is too late.
Smartphone-customers are early-adopters, geeks, nerds, hackers and DIY-junkies, so let us do with OUR hardware what we want to do.
